Ulverston Town Council Events Calendar

Ulverston is South Lakeland’s friendly and historic Market Town only a few miles from the shores of Windermere. Birthplace of Stan Laurel and home to a thriving artistic community, the town is proud of its variety and quality of festivals and events held throughout the year. Events are held throughout the town on the cobbled streets, the Coronation Hall and at Ford Park.

Visit Ulverston; take part in its festivals and stay awhile to enjoy the hospitality and old world atmosphere in the town. Relish the host of specialist shops, cosy pubs, traditional street market and market hall. Ulverston International Music Festival

From Classical to Jazz, this annual celebration of music featuring artists from across Europe. Ulverstonian and internationally recognised pianist Anthony Hewitt directs.

From 15th June 2018 to 17th June 2018

Another Fine Fest

Ulverston will once again erupt in a multicoloured feast of live music, DJs, circus, street theatre, live street art, window painting, yarnbombing, stand up, lots of stalls and much much more!

Ulverston Gin Festival

Organised by the Gin Society and including Ulverston's very own local Shed 1 Gin. Tickets from the Coronation Hall.


From 23rd June 2018 to 24th June 2018

Ulverston Open Gardens Weekend

Over 16 gardens throughout Ulverston will be open to the public from 11 - 4 on both days. Some will provide refreshments and plant sales. Admission £4.00 per person by programme. Programmes will be available from each garden and from shops in town prior to the event. The event is organised by Ulverston in Bloom

Weekly outdoor street market

Ulverston holds its weekly outdoor street market every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year and indoor markets every day in the Market Hall, New Market Street (closed Wednesdays and Sundays)

Open: Every Sun & Bank Holiday Easter to October, when flag on Hoad Hill is flying.
