Ulverston Town Council Events Calendar

Ulverston is South Lakeland’s friendly and historic Market Town only a few miles from the shores of Windermere. Birthplace of Stan Laurel and home to a thriving artistic community, the town is proud of its variety and quality of festivals and events held throughout the year. Events are held throughout the town on the cobbled streets, the Coronation Hall and at Ford Park.

Visit Ulverston; take part in its festivals and stay awhile to enjoy the hospitality and old world atmosphere in the town. Relish the host of specialist shops, cosy pubs, traditional street market and market hall. This annual event will once again take place at the Coronation Hall.

Ulverston Charter Day Free Family Fun Day

A free event in Ulverston town centre organised by Ulverston Town Council. Bands, free entertainment, family dog show and much more. 11 - 3.30

Ulverston Lantern Festival

Rivers of light made up of 4 grand processions of lanterns, come together in the town centre and then move on to Ford Park for the lantern gathering and fireworks.

UAOS Present Anything Goes

Ulverston Amateur Operatic Society present this sumptuous musical at the Coronation Hall Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy Moonface Martin aid Billy in his quest to win Hope. The musical introduced such songs as "Anything... read more Goes", "You're the Top", and "I Get a Kick Out of You."

Ulverston holds its weekly outdoor street market every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year and indoor markets every day in the Market Hall, New Market Street (closed Wednesdays and Sundays)
