Mayors plants tree at Ford Park for National Tree Week

The Mayor of Ulverston Cllr Sharon Webster will be planting an Oak sapling at Ford Park, Ulverston on Tuesday 26 November at 2.00pm as part of National Tree Week. It will be the first tree to be planted at Ford Park’s planned arboretum.

The Mayor commented “This is part of the town councils Environmental proposals for Ulverston, that include planting more trees in and around the town. I am delighted to support Ford Park’s tree planting plans and wish them every success with their native species arboretum”.

The tree will be the first to be planted in Ford Park’s new arboretum and will be planted at the bottom of Ford Park field adjacent to Popla Grove.

Ford Park Chief Executive, Jilll Salmon said: “We are very excited about our upcoming arboretum which will showcase and celebrate native tree species. We believe our arboretum will be the only one dedicated to native tree species in the UK and we are very proud to welcome the Mayor of Ulverston, Cllr Sharon Webster as she plants the first tree as part of National Tree Week.”
